Seals, so ungainly on land, are transformed into the most graceful creatures once they enter the water. Their large, intelligent eyes follow the divers as they swim playfully amongst them, blowing bubbles and moving in for a closer look – this is a once in a lifetime diving encounter!
The Seal Colony is found on the Robberg Peninsula and is only a 10-minute boat ride from the dive centre. It is a shallow dive (4-6m) and is suitable for all divers.

Is it Safe?
The seals are friendly and inquisitive, however as with any animal – if provoked or harassed, they would be capable of causing harm.

WHERE TO MEET:
Please drive straight to the Beacon Island Resort Main Entrance. Park outstide and follow our signs on the walkway to the left of the Boom Gate. If you need any further directions please ask the security. (We are INSIDE the Beacon Isle Hotel complex, next to the volleyball courts).
DURATION & WHAT TO EXPECT:

You will arrive at the dive centre to sign in and receive your rental gear. Once you are all kitted up we will do a full dive briefing from your dive guide. Thereafter we will take a short stroll on the pristine beaches of Plettenberg Bay to the boat where you will experience a true Plett style beach launch. I did the scuba dive with seals and had a great experience. The staff were really friendly and got us set up very quickly on arrival. The kit was all really nice, well looked after kit. The boat ride out and back was good fun, being launched into the sea by a tractor and then racing up onto the sand on return was very exciting. The seals! Were awesome! Access to showers and lots of parking if you self drive. I highly recommend them. Wish I jihad more time to go visit some of their scuba dive spots. - Andrew
